Am Schiff werden umfangreiche Arbeiten an schifftechnischen Anlagen und inhaltlich passende technische Änderungen durchgeführt. Das Marinearsenal agiert dabei als Hauptauftragnehmer und stellt neben den für die Instansetzungsmaßnahmen benötigten Fachkräfte die notwendige Infrastruktur einschließlich des Docks zu Verfügung. Für zusätzlich notwendige Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen, welche nicht vom Arsenalbetrieb in Rostock durchgeführt werden können, werden fachliche Arbeitspakete gebildet, die jeweils in separaten Vergabeverfahren an externe Firmen vergeben werden. Die ursprünglich verbauten Module sind nicht mehr am Markt verfügbar. Eine Instandhaltung mit der bisherigen Lösung ist daher nicht mehr zuverlässig möglich. Ein Teil der vorhandenen Schaltschränke wurde bereits auf eine technisch zuverlässige sowie versorgbare Lösung umgerüstet. Nunmehr soll eine Umrüstung der verbliebenen Schaltschränke erfolgen.
