Durch die Migration auf die aktuelle Produktgeneration sollen die Voraussetzungen für den langfristigen Betrieb der virtuellen Server- und Infrastrukturumgebung geschaffen sowie aktuelle Funktionen, Sicherheitsupdates und Hersteller-Support genutzt werden können. Die zu beschaffenden Leistungen umfassen somit die Bereitstellung der erforderlichen VMware-vSphere-Foundation-Lizenzen für den vorgesehenen Nutzungsumfang einschließlich Wartungs-, Update- und Supportleistungen durch den Hersteller für die Vertragslaufzeit von fünf Jahren. Die bestehende Virtualisierungsumgebung soll hinsichtlich Funktionalität, Verfügbarkeit und Betriebsstabilität nachhaltig abgesichert und an die aktuellen Lizenz- und Produktmodelle des Herstellers angepasst werden.
