Der Einsatz von Building Information Modeling (BIM) soll im Projekt helfen, Planungsprozesse und Informationsflüsse effizienter zu gestalten und die Kommunikation zwischen den Beteiligten zu verbessern. Angesichts der Größe sowie der vertraglichen und technischen Komplexität des Projekts beabsichtigt der Auftraggeber, ein BIM-Management extern sowie eine BIM-Gesamtkoordination zu beauftragen. Sie sollen dem Projektteam ab Beginn der Leistungsphase 3 nach HOAI professionell zur Seite stehen und in den Ausschreibungsverfahren Konstruktiver Ingenieurbau LPH 3, 4 + 6 gemäß HOAI, sowie Verkehrsanlagen- u. Umweltplanung LPH 5, 6 + 8 gemäß HOAI unterstützen. Für das BIM-Management und die BIM-Gesamtkoordination sind jeweils verschiedene Mitarbeiter einzusetzen, um die Kontrollfunktion des BIM-Managements zu gewährleisten.
