Die SEEHAFEN KIEL GmbH & Co. KG hat das Grundstück Salzredder 3 in Kiel-Wellingdorf (Landeshauptstadt Kiel, Gemarkung Dietrichsdorf, Flur 1, Flurstücke 45/4, 45/8 und 58/7) erworben, um zusätzliche Nutzflächen für den Hafenbetrieb zu generieren. Im Rahmen der Erweiterung des Ostuferhafens (6. Bauabschnitt) sollen die auf dem Grundstück vorhandenen Betriebs- und Nebengebäude sowie der Salzredder selbst zurück gebaut werden.

    Das Grundstück wurde über viele Jahre durch einen galvanischen Betrieb genutzt. Diese Nutzung hat zu Verunreinigungen der Bausubstanz sowie zu Untergrundverunreinigungen in Boden und Grundwasser geführt, insbesondere durch per- und polyfluorierte Alkylsubstanzen (PFAS), Schwermetalle, Mineralölkohlenwasserstoffe (MKW) und polycyclische aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe (PAK). Im Zuge der Rückbauplanung wurde ein orientierendes Gebäude-Schadstoffkataster erstellt; dieses wird derzeit noch ergänzt und befindet sich in der Finalisierung. Die Anlagentechnik und Betriebsstoffe wurden in den vergangenen Jahren bereits zurückgebaut.
