Der Landkreis Gießen plant auf dem Gelände der Grundschule Burgschule in der Burgstraße 5, 35440 Linden, Flur 1, Flurstück 83/6, einen Ersatzneubau für die Ganztagsbetreuung. Die Stadt Linden, mit einer Einwohnerzahl von ca. 13.500 liegt im Osten des Landkreises Gießen. Die Burgschule ist im Schnitt eine dreizügige Grundschule mit aktuell 310 Schüler*innen. Derzeit gehen ca. 150 Kinder in die Ganztagsbetreuung, Tendenz steigend. Der geplante zweigeschossige Neubau wird als kompakter Baukörper im nordwestlichen Bereich des Schulgrundstücks errichtet. Der Haupteingang des Neubaus ist nach Norden ausgerichtet und orientiert sich zum bestehenden Schulgebäude. Die Anlieferung der Küche erfolgt direkt über die Burgstraße. So wird eine getrennte Erschließung der verschiedenen Funktionsbereiche sichergestellt. Die Versorgung und Entsorgung der Küche erfolgt somit unabhängig vom Schulbetrieb. Der Ersatzneubau der Burgschule Linden ist als Schule (HBO §2 Abs. 9 Nr. 12, Sonderbau) und Gebäudeklasse 3 zu bewerten. Er wird als 2-geschossiger Hybridbau (Stahlbetonskelett und -Decken mit Außenwänden in Holz, in Passivhausstandard) errichtet.
