Die Eisenbahnüberführung überführt die S-Bahnstrecke 6002 und die Fernbahnstrecke 6081 über die Straße Pölnitzweg. Die betroffenen Streckenabschnitte befinden sich im Land Berlin zwischen den S-Bahnhöfen Berlin–Buch und Röntgental. Die Strecke 6002 gehört zum Streckennetz der Berliner S-Bahn. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Hauptbahn. Im Bereich der EÜ ist Strecke 6002 eingleisig ausgebaut. Die Strecke 6081 verläuft im Bereich der Brücke zweigleisig und stellt eine elektrifizierte Hauptstrecke mit Güterverkehr, Personennah- und Personenfernverkehr dar. Die Strecken sind elektrifiziert (S-Bahnstrecke mit seitlicher von unten bestrichener Stromschiene). Die Eisenbahnüberführung wird innerhalb der DB Netz AG dem Regionalbereich Ost, Netzbezirk Bernau zugeordnet. Es sind für alle oben benannten Gleise Hilfsbrücken sowie zugehörige Verbauten zu verbauen. Ebenfalls gehört eine Kabelumverlegung zu den Maßnahmen. Diese beinhaltet Stromkabel, LST-Kabel und TK-Kabel. Ebenfalls sind Zusammenhangsmaßnahmen Bestandteil der Ausschreibung.
