Das Projekt “Korridorsanierung Remagen – Mainz" umfasst die umfassende Sanierung der Linken Rheinstrecke in der Region Mitte. Der betrachtete Abschnitt erstreckt sich von Strecke 2630 Bahn-km 44,160 bis Strecke 3510 km 27,850 und hat eine Gesamtlänge von rund 130 km. Im Rahmen der Korridorsanierung werden in vier Bauabschnitten zwischen Remagen und Mainz unter anderem rund 81 km Gleis, 102 Weichen sowie die Oberleitung erneuert. Ergänzend sind der Neubau von drei Überholgleisen sowie Anpassungen und Neubauten an rund 13 Weichenheizungen vorgesehen. Darüber hinaus umfasst das Projekt umfangreiche Sanierungsmaßnahmen an den Tunneln Bank, Bett und Kammereck, den Ausbau und die Sanierung von 25 Verkehrsstationen sowie den Neubau von fünf Brücken, verschiedenen Durchlässen und Stützbauwerken.
