Im Umschlagbahnhof Basel ist der Ausbau und die Erweiterung des Containerterminals geplant. Als vorgezogene Einzelmaßnahme des geplanten Ausbaus, wird die komplette MS-Schaltanlage inklusive des Gebäudes erneuert. Für den Neubau eines weiteren Kranes ist der vierte Abgang in der geplanten MS-Schaltanlage erforderlich. Damit ein weiterer Portalkran angeschlossen werden kann, ist es erforderlich, eine neues Gebäude mit einer entsprechenden MS-Schaltanlage zu errichten. Die Baustelle befindet sich in der Stadt Weil am Rhein, Gemarkung 08 7340 Weil, Flurstück 5209 Teil 33 auf einer Fläche der DB Immobilien (BK09).
