Im Projekt ‚Umbau und Modernisierung des Müllheizkraftwerks‘ in Darmstadt steht nach dem erfolgreichen Abschluss des 1. Bauabschnitts (BA1) nun der 2. an, in dem der vollständige Rückbau der bestehenden Verbrennungslinie 1 erfolgen wird und im Anschluss, an deren Stelle, insbesondere im Bauteil (BT) 01, eine Klärschlamm-(KS-)Monobehandlungsanlage (KSMB) in Form eines Drehrohrs als Linie 5 eingebaut sowie das bestehende BT08 zusammen mit dem Neubau BT20 zu einer KS-Annahme und -Zwischenlagerung umfunktioniert wird. Diese Maßnahme wird im Projekt als Teilprojekt (TP) 2 bezeichnet. Im TP4 wird im bestehenden BT03 eine Fernwärme-(FW-)Auskopplungsstation integriert. Im TP6 wird eine komplexe Anlage in das BT12 eingebaut, mit der die nach der KSMB anfallende, phosphorhaltige KS-Asche gemahlen, konfektioniert und zu einem handelsüblichen Düngemittel-Endprodukt aufbereitet wird. Für diese Maßnahmen sind erhebliche Eingriffe in den Gebäudebestand und Neubaumaßnahmen erforderlich, die Stahlbau- und Schlosserarbeiten für den Gebäudestahlbau, für Tragkonstruktionen des Anlagenbaus sowie angepasste, geänderte und neue Verkehrswege auf allen Ebenen in und an den Gebäuden und Anlagen erfordern, um die Betriebssicherheit, Instandhaltung und Revisionsarbeiten der Anlagen bzw. des Gebäudekomplexes weiterhin sicherstellen zu können.
