Im Süden des UKB befindet sich als Teil des Neurozentrums die Neurochirurgie, Gebäude 081. Bei der Neurochirurgie, erbaut Anfang der 1970-er Jahre, handelt es sich um einen Stahlbetonskelettbau mit Unterzugsdecken, 2 Untergeschossen und einem 7-geschossigen Baukörper auf einem Breitfuß. Die Gebäudestruktur bringt es mit sich, dass zahlreiche Räume innenliegend und damit nicht tagesbelichtet sind. Durch das Gebäude führen 2 Treppenhäuser und 3 Aufzüge, 2 davon im selben Schacht. An die Neurochirurgie schließen sich die Gebäude 082 (Neurologie) und 080 (Neubau Neurologie, Psychiatrie & Psychosomatik) an. Zu Gebäude 082 besteht eine bauliche Verbindung über das Untergeschoss und das Erdgeschoss. Gebäude 080 schließt ebenfalls im Untergeschoss, Erdgeschoss und im 1. Obergeschoss an die Neurochirurgie an. Auf Grund des sich in Betrieb befindlichen Gebäudes kann es möglich sein, dass die Arbeiten auch nachts, samstags und an Sonn- und Feiertagen ausgeführt werden müssen. Der laufende Betrieb der Neurochirurgie darf nicht beeinträchtigt werden. Zum Schutz der Gesundheit für Patienten und Mitarbeiter ist für alle Baumaßnahmen ein Schutz vor Staub, Dreck und anderen Gefahren vorzusehen. Die Gesamtmaßnahme "Umbau Radiologie" umfasst folgende Teilmaßnahmen: 1. Umbau Bereich Neuroradiologie im Erdgeschoss und Einbau von 5 Großgeräten sowie Umbau einer DSA-Anlage 2. Umbau im 1. Untergeschoss zur Unterbringung der Labore des Instituts für Zelluläre Neurowissenschaften (IZN) aus dem EG und weiterer Nutzer 3. Brandschutzsanierung in den jeweiligen Bereichen Im Zuge eines offenen Verfahrens soll das Gewerk Beton-Kabelkanal vergeben werden.
